After getting turfed out of the Perth SVNS quarterfinals the USA Men's 7s team capped off their weekend with a win over Spain to take 7th.
The USA women capped off the Perth SVNS with their second-straight fourth-place finish.
It was an interesting tournament in which the Eagles put in a ton of effort and worked hard to win the collision battle. They fixed their poor passing mid-tournament, which is difficult to do.
The Perth stop for the SVNS World Series will kick off on Australia day on the shores of the Indian Ocean and the USA teams will have their work cut out for them.
The USA Falcons ended up 1-4 at the Coral Coast 7s, but there's no head-hanging in the USA men's 7s program.
In all over the games, including their last one, a 14-12 loss in the Bowl semifinals, were competitive, and we would say three of the four losses were very close, with one being competitive but not quite "close."
The Los Angeles stop on the World Rugby SVNS Series is now covering three days, which World Rugby organizers have concluded will help fans enjoy the tournament a little bit better.
So now it's Friday night, March 1, and then all day March 2, and most of Sunday, March 3. Friday night will feature one pool game for every team, men and women.
