Finalists for 2026 Scholz Award Named
The finalists for the Rudy Scholz Award, given each year to the top collegiate rugby player in America, have been named.
With votes from a panel of coaches and media, along with votes from the American college rugby public, the 16 nominees have been whittled down to four finalists.

And just like that we’re at the D1A semifinals.
In a way it seemed like it was going to be this way. the only strong doubt was whether it would be Life or Lindenwood. Those two of course had the tightest game of the quarterfinals.
Herbst Out of Hospital, Enters Rehab Following Injury
Walsh University player-coach Stephan Herbst has left the hospital.
Herbst, who was playing for the NCR All-Star team at the Rugby League 9s at the National Rugby League tournament and event in Las Vegas in February.

One Road Winner as D1A Playoffs Follow Script, Mostly
Of the previous 13 D1A championships, 11 have been won by the four teams remaining in the 2026 playoffs—Navy, Life, Cal, and Saint Mary’s.
All four won their D1A quarterfinal matches Saturday.

The Navy Midshipmen defeated the West Point Black Knights 38-10, showcasing a stifling defense and getting 16 points from flyhalf Roanin Krieger.
