Liberty Opens D1AA Season as Contenders Put Hands Up
Five games kicked off the Liberty D1AA season with some clear favorites putting their hands up.
In perhaps what was expected to be the most competitive matchup, Babson defeated UMass 34-29. This was a good showing for a Babson side that saw their Head Coach, Carrick Pell, move on to take the position at Norwich. In his place is former AIC Head Coach T. Fletcher.
Liberty NCR D1 Ramps Up Now
The Liberty Conference in NCR D1 kicked off last week with just the one game but now with three matches on the slate.
Coming into this weekend Fordham is 1-0 after a nicely-taken win over AIC.
"We knew it will be a very physical game," said Fordham Head Coach Federico Rienhardt. "We worked hard and stayed connected in all game."

D1A Rankings for 2026-27 Week 3

However ... we did get a good one, with Davenport over Mount St. Mary's.
Good Start in D2 for Miami, UNI
Men's D2 college rugby saw two notable preseason results with Northern Iowa and Miami of Ohio both registering well-taken victories.
Miami took on IUP and won 39-10. The influence of the work the program has been doing with Crusaders Global is pretty clear. Two players went to the Crusaders Global Academy in New Zealand over the Southern hemisphere winter.
