William Paterson University Men ran away with the Tri-State Conference 7s title in style and the New Jersey school collected their third consecutive conference 7s crown. UMW hosted a 7’s tournament at home today and once again came out on top after five victories over a tough field.
The nominees for the Rudy Scholz Award have been released.
The award is named after former Santa Clara rugby star and two-time Olympic gold medalist Rudy Scholz, and since 2016 has been given annually to the best men's college rugby player in the country.
Towson University will be joining the MARC in the fall of 2019 and competing in the MARC's D1AA division.
Towson was for years an accomplished DII team until it combined with other DII, DI, and NSCRO teams to form the Chesapeake Conference three years ago. The Chesapeake was a huge success, but meanwhile, the MARC has been moving a bit further South in the teams that compete.
