The Men's DI College rankings continue to be complicated by the fact that there are three separate DI competitions, and a chunk of the teams aren't even playing 15s at all. This game was a rematch of the 2014 state semifinal won by Cumberland Valley. Both teams entered the match undefeated in league play.

USA Rugby’s attempt to field a DII Men’s College 7s championships was been quite successful so far this year, with 11 tournaments providing teams and seven automatic qualifiers having won tournaments so far.
The Mid-Atlantic women’s DII college quarterfinal was an interesting one. Two conference runners-up – Capital’s Salisbury and Carolinas’ College of Charleston – won their Round of 16 matches, while their respective conference champions (Mary Washington and South Carolina) were eliminated on Saturday.
