GRR: College Men
The University at Buffalo men's rugby team is not going to be playing rugby this fall.
The program announced today that it will suspend the season due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
Here is the full announcement:
The phrase "moved to spring" can mean many things, and in fact defining that phrase will be next on the plate of many college conferences.
The Southern Rugby Conference Board has voted to cancel any rugby for the fall of 2020.
The conference, which recently announced a joining with NCR, and is a robust, two-tiered Men's DII collegiate competition, decided unanimously to move all rugby to the spring, with 15s and 7s still on the table.
Dave Clancy didn’t actually get his shot to show a lot of what he can do, so he’s going to have to wait.
The new Head Coach for UCLA Men’s Rugby barely got his team on the field before the COVID-19 lockdown, but the Irishman is in it for the long haul, building on what Scott Stewart did the past 15 years.
As expected the dominoes are quickly falling in men's college rugby this fall, with conferences that play their 15s season in the fall announcing (or at least making it very clear) that they will not be playing as normal because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
