The nominees for the MA Sorensen Award for the top women's college player in the country have been released.

The award is named after groundbreaking William & Mary and USA prop MaryAnne Sorensen, who was a pioneer in the women's game as a player and a coach, and remains a highly-respected doctor. Sorensen has been present at all three Sorensen Award presentations.

Fans can submit their nominations for the 2018-19 MA Sorensen Award for the top women's college rugby player in the country.

The award is given out every year by the Washington Athletic Club of Seattle, Wash., and is named after trailblazing prop and Rugby World Cup winner MA Sorense - who has graciously appeared every year to present the award.

Game jerseys from each of the six current Washington Athletic Club award-winners are now officially on display at the WAC's Hagerty's Bar in Seattle.

The top two college rugby players in the country will be honored Saturday in Seattle.

The Washington Athletic Club began sponsoring the Rudy Scholz Award and the MA Sorensen Award for the top men's and women's college rugby players (respectively) in 2016. That year, Dylan Audsley of Saint Mary's and Hope Rogers of Penn State were honored.
