It was a wild weekend in the Heart of America with three very close games and still an ongoing question as to which team will end up on top this fall.
This was the first big weekend in the Liberty Conference, in both the NCR D1 and D1AA divisions.
D1AAUMass opened their account in impressive fashion with an 88-5 defeat of Niagara. Yale, which had a solid 2024-25 season, beat UConn 24-12.
But perhaps the notable results were Boston College 71-21 over Buffalo, and Babson 42-22 over Columbia.
The Big 10 is getting going slowly as we get one more conference clash and a couple more non-conference games.
Wisconsin took on Michigan State in a game between two Big 10 teams but one that won't count in the conference standings. This was a good showing for the Badgers as they won 35-14.
Harvard remains unbeaten in NIRA DI after an impressive showing over Brown.
After falling behind 3-0 the Crimson exploded for 33 straight points going into halftime, and cruised to a 47-8 win.
Tries from Courtney Taylor and freshman Madelyn Hubbell (her first ever for Harvard), were both converted by Ava Frerence.
Navy at Lindenwood highlights this weekend in NIRA DI.
However, Army vs Queens (at the US Naval Academy) is also a key game for both.
Unfortunately, Dartmouth at Princeton has been called off.
