While the USA Men’s 7s team undergoes some upheaval and faces the uncomfortable question of whether they can qualify for the 2016 Olympics, the USA Women’s team is in a somewhat different situation.

They have coaching stability, with Ric Suggitt at the reins still. They have future stability, with knowledge that they have a much stronger chance of qualifying for Rio 2016.

It might be fair to say that the High School All American coaches were a little taken aback by their team’s scrimmage loss to Cordoba Academy. This was, after all, a Cordoba team that the Americans had beaten in 2013, so what gives with the 48-3 loss? There were reasons, for sure.

The Seattle Vikings once again won in Subway Washington Summer Games rugby 7s series, beating Liberty 50-7 in the final of the Boys U19 bracket, and shutting out Rainier 50-0 in the final of the U17s.

Seattle leads both the 19 boys and U17 boys series.

HS All American players Malcolm May and Calvine Whiting told Goff Rugby Report that the team's 35-13 loss to Argentina's U18s included some very positive moments.

The HSAA team was close to Los Pumitas at 14-13 in the first half, and that was due to some superb play from Ben Cima, among others, and hard-nosed work in the breakdowns.

The Women's Collegiate All Americans hammered the Ontario Junior Storm women's side, a mostly U20 team, 63-7 to round out their Canadian assembly.

The All Americans were in command early and showed some unselfish play and smart ball movement throughout, even when the subs ran in.
