The moment came after Brian Nault scored a try against Upright Rugby Rogues in pool play at the HS Elite 7s at the LVI. The Shelton, Wash. 15s loose forward and 7s prop had scored an uncharacteristic try for the HS All Americans, bursting down the sidelines like a wing after being set up nicely by his teammates.
In one of the more intriguing results coming out of the Las Vegas Invitational was a 15s challenge match between the Kahuku Raiders out of Hawaii, and United HS out of Utah.
With the completion of the fall college 7s tournaments in the West, and then the CRC Qualifier at the Las Vegas Invitational, we feel we have enough data to rank the top 25 men's college 7s teams. Arkansas State gets to #1 because they beat several good teams on their way to winning the CRC Qualifier, and historically, they have been very good.
Danny Barrett may be figuring it out.
The United States 7s forward put in a good weekend’s work in Las Vegas, and with his physical, sometimes fractious play, and wild hair, he has put some in mind of Todd Clever when Clever was the enforcer on the 7s team.
