USA Rugby Release - BOULDER, Colo. – USA Rugby, in partnership with IMG, will hold the 2015 College 7s National Championships at the University of Denver. The Big XII 7s kicks off this weekend at Oklahoma University in Norman, Okla. with seven teams taking a shot at a USA Rugby Collegiate 7s Championship spot.
Only Baylor, Texas, and Kansas will not be represented in the ten-college Big XII (yes, you read that right), while from way back east, West Virginia will bring their squad (pending the effects of another huge snowstorm).
The Boys HS National Invitational Championship has announced the 24 teams invited to the 2015 tournament.
Twelve single-school teams and 12 high school club teams have been selected by a panel of coaches to play in three brackets at the Rugby Athletic Center in Charlotte, NC May 14-16, 2015.
Danville is solid atop the Northern California Varsity Gold Bay conference as they beat one of their biggest rivals for the HS club championship, Hayward, 45-19 this past weekend.
That Danville was able to win speaks to the team’s quality, but that they won by so much speaks even louder. Danville Head Coach Jon Straka said it was still a difficult contest.
Matai Leuta is one of those players who came out of nowhere. The 6-4, 240-lb power runner was one of two players identified in the Men’s 7s Eagles recruitment camp to get invitations to be in residence at the Olympic Training Center. Ahamad Harajly played for the USA team in Wellington before getting more playing time with the Falcons in Las Vegas.
