Back from the USA Selects trip to South America, USA MNT Head Coach Mike Tolkin can rightly be pleased with a lot of what happened.
The results were a 13-3 defeat of Uruguay, a 54-6 loss to the Argentina Jaguars, and a 28-23 loss against those same Jaguars.
Here are some players who made an impact for their teams this week.
Corey Patton, North Meck, NC
A fast and agile center, Patton can turn a game on its head, and he helped North Meck win their final league game of the season to secure top seed in their division going into the state playoffs.
It’s been a weird season for Grand Canyon University, but things may be looking up as the Lopes look ahead to next year.
Head Coach Ryan Kelly had to find games where he could as GCU wasn’t in a conference, and unfortunately that meant that in the middle of the spring season, teams weren’t available, and some that were available backed out.
USA Rugby has named the 16 teams to play for the USA Women's Collegiate 7s championships.
The tournament will be held May 23-24 at the University of Denver.
The list includes Cal, which won two qualifiers, and other qualifier winners Penn State, Princeton, Virginia and Texas.
