GRR: No name
The Men’s D2 college rugby season is well and truly starting this weekend and as usual you really don’t know until the cleats hit the grass.
Allegheny, Cardinals, High Peaks, Liberty, MARC, Northern Lights, NACR, SCRC all get going.
This is a good weekend in NIRA action with three conference D-I games, one key D-II game, and two that are cross-divisional.
Harvard was a little bit shocked after being held to a tie against Quinnipiac, and Friday they visit Sacred Heart looking to rebound. SHU won big over Princeton, with the usual suspects contributing on the scoresheet—Alyssa Cunningham scored 20 on her own.
USA Men’s 15s Head Coach Scott Lawrence has made several changes to the USA lineup as the Eagles prepare to face Fiji Saturday at 6AM ET.
The game, one of two semifinals in the Pacific Nations Cup this weekend, will be live on Peacock.
Six players who didn’t start against Japan will be in the starting 15 against Fiji and there are come corresponding changes on the bench.
Penn State Men’s Rugby opens up their new era with a game at Mount St. Mary’s and this is with new Head Coach Zac Mizell.
A star at Arkansas State, helping them to a D1A final in 2012, and later capped by the USA 7s team, Mizell has coached at Life, University of Texas, and, most recently, Adrian.
We are cooking now.
This weekend we have close to 40 D1-level men's college rugby games. Of those, about 16 are ranked teams against ranked teams. Not that that means an awful lot as we're talking about four different rankings, but still. Here's how that shakes out:
