GRR: College Men
The clash of teams who are kicking themselves happens in the MAC as Western Michigan plays Louisville.
Both teams feel like they had hit upon the right way to beat league-leaders Bowling Green. Neither was able to sustain that though for 80 minutes.
As we started to get closer to playoff time the Liberty is coming to a climax with four teams still undefeated and three more at 2-1 or better.
Try-scorers and points machines seem to dominate this week's D1 College Gamebreakers.
Here are the best performers of the week:
Mike Weir, DartmouthIn a tense 21-10 win over Army, Weir, playing flyhalf, set up the Big Green attack and also kicked two key penalty goals plus a conversion, and a well-taken long-range drop goal, to lead the way.
OK, yes, we missed posting this column last week—our apologies—so we cover two weeks of top performances from Men's DII College Rugby in this week's Gamebreakers.
Forgive us.
Marist traveled down to Kings Point, NY to play Merchant Marine Academy to decide Tri State regular season champions.
This has been a stop-start season in the Tri State but both Marist and Kings Point have managed to get through it ready to play. Both defeated RPI in tight games and really that's what set up this encounter. Officially both teams were unbeaten going into the match.
