GRR: College Men
So who leads the Rugby East?
It might be too early to tell, of course, after just one week. It's relatively rare to have a team just roll throughout without at least a scare, if not an outright loss.
Playing in the Deep South, Southeastern Louisiana could well be a Men's D2 College dark horse and showed that over the weekend with a win over the University of Houston.
Played on a very hot Saturday evening, the game was tight in the first half, but opened up for a 52-22 SLU victory.
We are still very early on in the season, so the early results have a big effect when matched against teams that aren't playing yet.
This coming weekend we have about 70-75 men's D2 teams in action so we'll see a lot more adjustment next week.
Southern Nazarene kicked off their entry into conference play with a 53-23 defeat of a very solid UMS&T side in the Gateway Conference.
The Mid Americans Conference opened up with two lopsided results and two closer games that
First the lopsided games. Louisville defeated Dayton 67-0, while Bowling Green won comfortably over Ohio 69-3.
Meanwhile, Western Michigan showed well in a 35-19 defeat of IUPUI.
