GRR: University of Arizona
There is so much rankings action this week in DIA Rugby it's hard to know where to start.
Let's start with the new #1 Cal. The Bears open their annual two-game series with the University of British Columbia.
This weekend’s Game of the Week on FTF and Eleven Sports is Cal at Arizona, and could possibly be billed as the PAC Rugby Conference decider.
With Cal having already defeated UCLA, and favored against Utah (who they play in a month), a win over Arizona probably sews up the conference.
We're back with Gamebreakers for DIA. Here is who got noticed from February 8.Jack Springer, North Texas
The powerful UNT lock thundered through for UNT’s opening try and set the physical tone with several big carries and clearouts in his team’s 31-19 defeat of Baylor.
The Arizona Wildcats got back on winning ways with a 25-13 defeat of Grand Canyon University at GCU.
This was a non-conference crossover game for both teams, but has important rankings ramifications. With Arizona having lost at home to Central Washington last week they were looking to rebound, and they did.
The Mid-South is back on the field and already we've got a key matchup as Top-10 teams Lindenwood (#3) and Arkansas State (#7) meet in a game that will likely be very close.
