Saint Augustine defeated San Clemente 29-14 Saturday to win the SCIRF title, and finish the season undefeated.

This is the final of teams trying to follow California Interscholastic Federation rules on high school athletics. While it's not an official CIF league, organizers hope its the precursor to one.

Undefeated Saint Augustine is set to take on San Clemente in the SCIRF final, and a big part of that is Aidan Konja.

The skillful scrumhalf was the player of the game in the Saints’ recent win over Cathedral, really their last major test before the final.

The regular season in the SCIRF Platinum league is essentially complete, with St. Augustine taking 1st and San Clemente taking 2nd; those two will play February 22 in the championships game.

St. Augustine remained undefeated with a win over Fallbrook, and have another game against Mira Costa next week. But that game is immaterial as the Saints can't be caught.
