Goff Rankings
This is our second all-DIAA ranking of the fall, as we're doing this once a month.
The top 18 is easy to track because those teams are in our all-D1 fall ranking.
Sometimes it is that simple.
You know how we roll. If Team A is ranked below Team B and beats Team B, we don't automatically put Team A in Team B's spot. Even if Team B is ranked #1. There are always other factors involved.
Well as we said would happen, the rankings got a shakeup as major conference finals were held.
Some of the things we learned as a result:
Georgetown is indeed very good. The Hoyas beating a strong Villanova team by 46 is a serious result.
It was a bit of a tough week for making these rankings because we do have some teams we'd like to move into the Top 50, but those ranked in the lower reaches actually did pretty well.
So Nazareth, West Chester, and Salisbury all have to wait. But just so you know ... we're thinking of you the whole time.
The playoffs are coming.
When the playoffs are here we will see some significant movement. Don't expect the rankings to be perfect. No, not at all. To be honest, while we are pretty sure of the top three, even they could, of course, lose at some point. And we are pretty sure that teams #4 through #11 could all be mixed up and we wouldn't argue.
