Dartmouth is now secure on top of the NIRA D-I after the Big Green beat Harvard in Cambridge over the weekend.
This was a tense game throughout and it actually wasn’t until the 30th minute that anyone scored. Jordan Duncan finished off a nice sequence to give Dartmouth a 5-0 lead. women's rugby team improved to 5-0 on Saturday with a 26-19 win over rival Harvard.
Dartmouth and Harvard sit atop the NIRA D-I Standings and as fate would have it, those two teams play each other.
In what was one of the most entertaining and dramatic NIRA games of the season, West Point held off Sacred Heart 26-20 on Alumni Night in Fairfield, Conn.
This was a game that wasn’t perfectly-played—both teams made errors—but it was back-and-forth throughout and hinged on several key moments.
The most compelling game of the NIRA weekend as September ended was in D-II.
West Chester, having lost their opener by a significant margin, rebounded against Frostburg and then ran up against New Haven on Saturday. That game was a barnburner.
We see a bit of sisterhood, some worldliness, and plenty of challenges this week in NIRA.
Last week we saw yet another reason to keep a close eye on Quinnipiac.
The Bobcats have the week off this week and earned it after a controlled win over Navy 38-3 in which Navy hardly saw the opposing half. Quinnipiac's defense, precision, and catch-pass kept them on top the whole time.
