DIAA College Rugby News
It wasn't as exciting a weekend of DI Men's college rugby as we would have liked - there were far too many blowouts and very few games that were really compelling.
The University of Oklahoma (ranked #30 this fall by Goff Rugby Report) defeated 39 University of Arkansas 41-25 Saturday in a non-conference clash in Fayetteville, Ark.
The Sooners had a lot of work to do to get by the scrappy Razorbacks, and in fact Arkansas controlled much of the first half, leading 19-10 at the break.
Syracuse had a nice week atop the Empire Conference, but were knocked from their lofty perch Saturday as Stony Brook defeated the Hammerheads 33-26.
Stony Brook got three tries from Phil Salter and a solid effort from the forward pack for the victory.
James Madison made a big statement in the team’s debut in a DIAA conference, hammering Millersville 71-0 Saturday.
The defending DII 7s champions, JMU exploded out of the blocks with five tries in the first 20 minutes. But after that, Millersville slowed the onslaught a little … if only a little.
Here's Next Level Rugby's college preview of the weekend and some highlights, plus some cool instructional stuff.
It's Episode 1.
