DI College Games This Weekend

While several high-profile teams play some 7s, it's 15s time again for many top men's DI teams.

Games to watch: Force (#11) hosts #41 Wyoming is an all-ranked game, and #18 Boston College visits #40 New England College, new to the GRR rankings.

There are more all-ranked games. Bowling Green visits Davenport in a non-conference game that has all the earmarks of a classic. Arkansas State and Arkansas face off, and this is an excellent chance for new coach Shaun Potgeiter to put his stamp on the Red Wolves program. Iona, new to the rankings, hosts Kutztown and this will be a tough one for the Gaels as the Bears are still thinking about a Rugby East championship, and Iona is entering the really tough part of their season.

 

Perhaps the game of the weekend isn't one between ranked teams, but Central Florida (not ranked) at Florida International. FIU looks to be making a move in the SIRC South, where winless Florida State is still a very solid team, and 1-1 South Florida already beat UCF. Central Florida, of course, spent the last three seasons making the DIAA national final, winning twice. So they want to get back there. This game has all of those elements, and could make or break someone's season.

Finally, in one of those games that's always fun to see, Navy is at Notre Dame tonight, Friday. Navy plays at Notre Dame in football this weekend, too. It's a nice two-fer. Don't know about the football game, but Navy should take the rugby game.
