The Coronavirus outbreak and subsequent sequester of people in the USA and the halting of rugby in the foreseeable future has had a huge and negative impact on USA Rugby and the organization's reorganization plans.
USA Rugby CEO Ross Young has sent a message to the membership in which he announces an indefinite extension to the halting of rugby throughout the country.
"On behalf of USA Rugby I want to express my appreciation for your understanding and patience over the last few days with difficult decisions and changes required," said Young in the message.
World Rugby has now officially postponed the Sevens World Series events in London, Paris, and Langford, BC as further response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.
USA Rugby has today announced new naming standards for its men’s and women’s age-grade programs, with the All Americans monikers not used anymore for teams competing on the field.
High School and Collegiate All-American terms will now only be used for honors lists.
Naming schemes are as follows and will be consistent across men’s and women’s programs:
