The USA will be in Pool A of the Women's Rugby 7s event at the Olympic Games in Rio.
Friday the USA Women’s National 15s Team jumps back in the fray with the Super Series kicking off in Salt Lake City.
The Series actually starts with Canada facing off against England at 3pm at the Regional Athletic Complex. Then at 5pm the Eagles take on France. The round-robin series continues July 5 and July 9.
USA Rugby announced today that COO Jim Snyder will step in as interim CEO.
This likely means that there won't be an announcement soon of a new permanent CEO. That was stated in the release, which said such announcement would be made "in due course."
LAFAYETTE, Colo. (USA Rugby Release) – USA Rugby today announced the appointment of Jim Snyder as Acting Chief Executive Officer. Snyder will retain his current responsibilities as Chief Financial Officer. Snyder has held the position of CFO for USA Rugby for two years, prior to which he served in a number of Rugby Development roles within the organization, beginning in 2007.
Spain has won the women's final Olympic qualifier and will join their men's team in Rio 2016 this August.
Led by brilliant playmaker and finisher Patricia Garcia, Spain defeated Russia 19-12 in the final, after hammering Kazakhstan in the semis. Supported by hundreds of fans at the University College Dublin Bowl in the Ireland's capital, Spain was the class of the tournament.
