Florida State Battles Past UCF for Florida DIAA Title
The finalists for the 2021-22 Rudy Scholz Award have been named.
The four players, who coincidentally will all be in action this coming weekend in the DIA semifinals, were selected from the previous list of 16 nominees based on votes from college rugby teams, as well as fans, from around the country. The opinions of college rugby coaches and experts weight heavily in this vote.
It wasn't easy but Florida State did end up running the table in the Florida DIAA league, edging a tenacious Central Florida to take the conference.
As we have outlined, since the Florida DIAA Conference is not a member of any over-arching competition group, their champion does not advance to any national-level competition.
Fresno State made a huge statement in winning the Western Bracket of the ACR DIAA playoffs, defeating a very good Western Washington side 52-15 Sunday to book a spot at the ACR DIAA final against Kansas in Dallas.
