We look back at games in April and find a long list of players that performed well in one or more games during the month.
Fran Moretti, Strake JesuitThe captain and flyhalf for Strake was crucial in scoring a try and his leadership and his goalkicking in helping Strake beat Lake Travis twice this month, the latter time being the Texas/Louisiana Varsity Cup semifinal.
Over 130 games are on the high school slate this weekend as most leagues heat up.
We also have a pretty compelling Montana Invitationals, which includes Herriman, Kahuku, Liberty out of Washington, and leading teams in Montana Missoula and Gallatin.
The CRC runs competitions for 144 teams this coming weekend.
We already looked at the Men’s Premier, which is the largest bracket with 32 teams. Every other bracket has 16 teams—seven brackets, 112 teams. It’s massively ambitious and it’s pretty impressive to run a tournament of that size (there are a few that do this, and one or two are bigger, but it’s still pretty big).
The LAX SVNS pools and schedule are set with two days of World-Class rugby in four competitions.
Remember that eight teams in each of Men and Women will play for the World Championship. Meanwhile, eight teams in each of Men and Women will play in requalification tournaments (World Rugby is calling it the Play-Off tournament) for teams not in the top eight in the SVNS World Series.
The CRC 7s is set for this weekend and the Men’s Premier Division is back with 32 teams.
The teams come from four divisions: D3, D1AA, NCR D1, and D1A. Interestingly, no D2 teams are there. But we do have Loyola of Maryland and Babson, both D3 teams.
