The sport of women’s rugby has been elevated to varsity status at Sacred Heart University, as announced Wednesday by Executive Director of Athletics Bobby Valentine. The program will begin varsity competition in the Fall of 2015 and becomes the 32nd Division I varsity sport sponsored by the Pioneers.

The National Small College Rugby Organization (NSCRO) women's playoff picure is clearing up. Region 1 - NortheastUniversity of New England, the NERFU Champ and Runnerup Franklin Pierce Univ. will take part in the Keene State College hosted Regional Championship this weekend. Joining them are St. Bonaventure and Sacred Heart.

On one side of the girls’ high school Wisconsin State Championship, there is victor Divine Savior Holy Angels. The 2014 title sits atop a litany of state, regional and national accolades. The Milwaukee side entered this season with a lot of confidence – a boon that 22 seniors and a 57-player roster often affords – and there’s been some buzz that 2015 could be a special year for the Dashers.
