USA 7s wing Perry Baker had an eventful weekend at the Nelson Mandela Bay 7s, as he scored the winning try against Fiji in the Plate Final, capping off a tournament that started with him being tackled by a fan. Baker chased down a long kick from Madison Hughes in the Plate Final with the score tired 14-14

Top HS teams from the South met in Charlotte, NC in the Charlotte Catholic Charity Cup tournament Saturday. The Charlotte Tigers beat Chapin 32-7 and West Mecklenburg 40-0 in shortened games. The Phoenix club from Alpharetta, Ga.

The USA Men’s 7s team is into the Cup Quarterfinals in the Nelson Mandela Bay 7s in Port Elizabeth, South Africa after two impressive victories to cap off Day One. After losing 26-0 to South Africa in their opener, the Eagles shocked Wales 38-12 and then defeated a fairly pedestrian Kenyan side 33-5.
