U19 GirlsThe Lions girls split their two games, opening their account with a 29-5 win over Les Gazelles out of France. But a quick turnaround was tough as they lost 22-12 to losing their opening game to Pretentious Bastards out of Netherlands.
The USA Girls U18s and U20s will have a busy summer of action, USA Rugby has announced.
The U18s will play in a festival of shortened matches in Wales in late July, facing off with Netherlands, Scotland, and Wales. The final USA vs Wales match on Saturday, July 27th. The final USA vs Wales match will be a full 70-minute affair and will be broadcast live on RugbyPass TV.
As July approaches the Paris Olympics approach, too.
The USA women’s team is going through a period of preparation that will include training with Canada and hopefully some more. in Chula Vista and then Tours before they enter the Olympic Village.
After that, it’s about focusing on themselves, and focusing on gold.
The Mid-Atlantic Academy Championships (MAAC) kicks off tomorrow at Mount St. Mary's with eight U19 boys teams, three U16 boys teams, and two U19 girls teams competing.
These are select sides from various regions as well as MLR academy sides. This is an expansion, really, of a series of games from the fall between DC Young Glory, the NCYRU, and the Ohio Aviators.
Eagle Impact Rugby Academy U18s are on tour in the Iberian Peninsula and have opened with a victory.
This tour is a little different from previous tours when EIRA has played the Spanish national U18 team. This time EIRA has added Portugal to the slate.
