The question as to whether Adrian College's men's team can finish the season is very much in doubt after events last week.
There have been two issues bubbling for a while, and they seemed to come to a head last week. Here's the background:
Your big winners coming out of the Puriri Tournament seem to be Herriman and Layton Christian Academy.
Those two teams are certainly two of the major state contenders this year, along with defending state champs East HS. While East faltered a little, it's important to remember that the Puriri Tournament, while competitive, is still a warmup tournament.
We skipped last week in these rankings so we have a few more games to track this time around.
We're still looking for someone to unseat San Diego at #1 and we're struggling to find that. It could be St. Thomas and it could be ARC and it could be WWU. But not yet.
This is most certainly a different Saint Mary's team than the one that played the first half of the Palmetto Bowl in December.
The success of the Nelson College Scholarship program developed through the US Rugby Foundation is pretty evident given that the program has now been expanded to three student-athletes.
