BERKELEY, Calif. (Cal Rugby Release) – Fourteen new student-athletes from 14 different high schools and rugby teams have joined the California Golden Bears for 2015-16 as the program enters its 134th year as the oldest intercollegiate team on campus.
BYU won the Cougar 7s Invitational over Utah Saturday.
Both BYU and Utah ran out two teams in the event, with BYU A sweeping pool play in beating Utah Valley, Weber State, and Utah’s B side. Utah’s A squad defeated Dixie State, Idaho State, and BYU B to win their pool.
BYU A got by BYU B in the semis while Utah defeated UVU.
Marietta, Ga., (Life U Release) – As the old adage goes, timing is everything, and that is never more true than today as Scott Lawrence has signed on to lead the Life U Rugby program forward.
Molloy College defeated Seton Hall 28-19 Saturday to move to 4-0 in the Tri-State Men’s DII Conference, and taking comment of the Tri-State South.
The National Small College Rugby Organization continues to produce strong teams at the highest levels, with some of those teams moving up to higher divisions, and this weekend Mount St. Mary’s showed that they might be in position to be the next.
MSM defeated longtime DII power Salisbury 22-17 Saturday.
