St. Bonaventure held off a a determined comeback from Iona to win a Challenge Series match between the two.
St. Bonaventure led 31-15 only to see Iona come back to lead by five at 43-38. But Bonnies stormed back to score and convert to take the 45-43 lead, and then regained the restart to kick to touch and win the game.
The Chesapeake Collegiate Conference has named its first-team and second-team all-conference players.
CHICAGO — Arkansas State University defeated Notre Dame, 32-17, this weekend in men’s college rugby.
“Notre Dame is a very good team,” said A-State head coach Blake White. “Their players challenged us physically throughout the match, particularly with their big forwards. The first half was some of the best rugby we’ve played all year, but we just didn’t capitalize enough.”
The University of Oregon Ducks visited Bellingham, Wash. for an important match up with the 3-0 WWU Vikings. They went home on the wrong end of a 66-7 score.
On a high after beating Oregon State, UO has thoughts of moving up in the NCRC, but Western continues to improve.
