GRR: Eagle Women
As the USA Women's National Team gets ready to assemble for the World Cup there is some serious movement afoot to make it financially easier for them to represent the USA.
The USA women lost 79-14 to New Zealand and now are 0-4 for 2025.
Overall, that's not a massive disaster. Yes they should have beaten Japan, and if they had played better but within their ability parameters, they could have beaten Australia. They competed in a number of levels against Canada but the Canadians were certainly a better team.
The USA Women's Eagles were pipped 27-19 by Australia's Wallaroos at GIO Stadium in Canberra Saturday, moving the USA to 0-2 in Pacific Four Series.
Despite a huge game by prop Hope Rogers, who scored three tries, the Eagles couldn't pull out a victory.
Early Saturday morning, at 2:55AM ET, the USA women will take on Australia in a crucial Pacific Four game.
The Eagles have already lost to Canada (and were a shade unlucky) and Australia has already lost to New Zealand (and were a shade unlucky), and it's likely that this game will decide which of these two teams will advance to the WXV 1 later in the year.
(USA Rugby Release)—USA Women’s Eagles Head Coach Sione Fukofuka and staff have named the matchday 23 to face Australia in their second test of the Pacific Four Series.
The USA will take on the Wallaroos on their home turf in Canberra’s GIO Stadium on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at 4:55 pm ACT (2:55am ET), live in the USA on RugbyPass TV.
