In 2014 Rugby New Jersey established our first class of Honorary All State Players.
These selected student athletes played rugby during their High School years in New Jersey and went on to play in College.
St. Augustine and the Union County Mudturtles secured Rugby New Jersey state titles over the weekend.
Led by a player-of-the-game performance from Andrew Whiteman, the Hermits battled in a tight game with Delbarton. Delbarton led 12-7 at halftime but St. Augustine came back, tied it 12-12 through a try from John Lawson, and then Whiteman scored the game-winner.
St. Augustine won the New Jersey single-school boys title for the second time in a row, holding off a determined Delbarton.

The Union County Mudturtles (7-0 league play, 11 - 4 overall) returned home late Saturday night from the 2018 Boys High School Rugby National Championship to face off with Bergen RFC in the New Jersey Club semi-finals. The Union team finished 1-2 at the Nationals with a win over Phoenix Alpharetta (GA) and a close loss to St.
Union County RFC traveled to the Jersey Shore Sharks in what was expected to be a closely contested match. Neither team disappointed.

Christian Brothers Academy won the Varsity Rugby New Jersey State Championships this past weekend, beating St Augustine by one points.
The championship was played over five tournaments with points awarded for each tournament. The last tournament was played Sunday in Denville, NJ, hosted by Morris Rugby.
