Belmont High School recorded a well-taken 34-10 win over Weymouth to move to 4-0-1. BC High, meanwhile, beat Xaverian Brothers by. point 36-35. BC High took a 26-7 lead only to see Xaverian storm back to lead 35-33. These two teams have played extremely close games over the last several years.
Charlie Thomison slotted a penalty goal with three minutes left to secure the win for the Eagles. Mikey Smith and Conrad Babka scored two tries each for BC High.
"While we would’ve liked to put Xaverian away when we had the chance, I’m glad we found a way to win," said BC High Head Coach Paul Carty. "Good teams find a way win, and it’s not always pretty. We’ll be working on a few things as we head into next week."
Belmont gets a week off before playing BC High. The Eagles, meanwhile, are 3-0 and have St. John's, Belmont, then Milton HS on the upcoming slate. Xaverian is now 1-1-1, including their 48-14 win over Weymouth. Milton HS and St. John's are left for them.

Pelham beat PlayRugby 46-7 over the weekend on Senior Night for Pelham. This was the 15th year that these two teams have played each other. The two programs started at the same time, both starting as U14 teams. This time, flanker Bailey Worsely and fullback Jon Mullan starred as Pelham won the game. The night also saw Pelham honor their 2015 team, which was their first varsity high school team—North Westall, who was co-captain on that team, is now a coach at Play Rugby. His other captain, Luke Persanis, went on to be his teammate on NYAC. Here's a photo of the 2015 meeting between Pelham and PlayRugby.
