Goff Rankings
So we're back with the spring-focused conferences and already they've been in action.
Of note, Central Florida lost one game and won another by a single point. That's not a terrible start, but it's not enough to keep them in the Top 20. Other Florida results are enough to bring more Florida teams into the Top 40. We expect at least one team to start to separate and move further up.
As is usually the case, HS clubs take a little longer to get on the field than single-school teams.
They have more to do in recruiting, and with the main league that plays in December, Southern California, a single-school group of teams, we will have to wait a bit for most league games.
It's still very early in the HS season, and we expect to see a number of changes all through the list.
Right now, with Southern California very active, those teams have more opportunities to get results that move them up. That's what is happening now. After this weekend's quarterfinals in the SoCal Varsity White, we'll see some teams drop down and others move up.
The biggest result of note this past week was, of course, #23 Central Washington over #13 Arizona.
So we waited a little bit before launching out 2020 season HS Club rankings.
A few teams have already logged results, notably Marin, Bayou Hurricanes, Irvine Rhinos, Belmont Shore, and Phoenix Alpharetta.
We have expectations of other teams, and rank accordingly, but as they say every plan only last until you engage the enemy.
There is a ton of rugby to be played.
