Here's what happened this week in D1A rugby.

Cal lost on the road to UBC.

Navy beat Arkansas State in convincing fashion. 

Life and Lindenwood won big, but Lindenwood's opposition, Illinois, hung in there well enough to prove they deserve to be somewhere in the top 25.

Saint Mary's beat UCLA by 35, and Central Washington beat BYU by 44 (!).

This has, for us, mixed up the Top 10 quite a bit. Cal's loss shouldn't be too penalizing, but Lindenwood and Life and Saint Mary's have all been nipping at Cal's heels.

A loss to UBC can sometimes be enough if other teams are building something. OK, you say, well Lindenwood lost to Life. That's true, but they were basically one play away from tying that game.

So then we could leave Cal at #1, or move up Saint Mary's after their big win over UCLA on the road. Or what about Central Washington, which beat Arizona on the road, and then beat BYU a home, a BYU that almost (should have?) beat Saint Mary's. Life beat Lindenwood, but lost to Arkansas Sate, so their resume isn't perfect.

We choose Lindenwood, at the moment, but there's a very good chance, what with the games set for the next few weeks, for that to change.
