Goff Rankings

04.20.2015 - Alex Goff

We're back with the Boys single-school rankings after skipping a week (big playoff week and we just didn't get to it in time, and made the executive decision on Friday to wait). There's a little shift up top where Jesuit's loss to a very strong Granite Bay team and less-than-dominant win over Dixon inches them down behind a Penn squad that beat a very capable Notre Dame de La Salette.

The Men's DI College rankings continue to be complicated by the fact that there are three separate DI competitions, and a chunk of the teams aren't even playing 15s at all. And of course there's the split season - some play in the fall, some in the winter/spring, some both.  We really have not had a time when all teams that could be ranked are playing 15s at the same time.

With the cold-weather states getting going we will see a few more teams break into the HS Club Rankings. This week, a solid body of work gets Mississippi, KC Cougars, Kingswood, and Beaverton in. West Valley moves up one again thanks to another big result, this time beating United.

A relatively slow weekend as Easter put several teams on the sidelines. Several teams, such as Belmont HS, Union (Oregon), Capital and Mountain View out of Idaho, and Oklahoma's Bixby move in.

The Women’s DII College rankings were tough to follow this year. Either the heavy hitters in the Northeast and Midwest were being heavily hit by snow and ice, or the spring-based teams were suffering through forfeit/cancelation-ridden leagues (with some notable exceptions). But after a month’s hiatus, some good results have necessitated some movement in the Top 20.
