GRR: MLR Draft
Someone is starting to listen.
More teams were looking for tight five players but also taking a sht at a young, American flyhalf in the MLR draft.
Here is the list of first round picks:
Rick Rose of St. Bonaventure is the #1 pick in the 2023 Major League Rugby draft, getting the nod from expansion club Miami.
Rose was the captain of St. Bonaventure, leading them to a NCR D1 title in the fall of 2021. The 6-7 lock is a powerful forward on defense, wins lineouts, is an excellent leader, and someone who puts in a ton of work around the park.
The Major League Rugby Draft is set for Thursday night with the first pick being announced some time after 6:30PM ET.
the Major League Rugby Draft will be held next week.
Goff Rugby Report has a look at it and we look at it, as usual, from a college player perspective.

Which players are looking like they might be nicely poised to be drafts?
Here goes:
Thursday, July 13 brings the Collegiate Rugby Shield back to Herriman, Utah as a pre-Major League Rugby draft event.
In fact, the Shield is touting the fact that it had more players than “any other MLR Redraft Event.” While technically true, there aren’t really a lot of these so being the biggest wouldn’t be hard.
