GRR: Life University
Marietta, Ga. - Life University has announced that their Rugby Head Coach, Dan Payne, has been promoted to Assistant Athletics Director.
On July 1, the women’s team at Life University officially became a varsity program. Big changes lie ahead, not least among them the opportunity to offer more athletic scholarships, but coach Rosalind Chou isn’t rushing the growth of the young program.
Chou is fortunate to have Director of Rugby Dan Payne lending guidance.
The ACRC season is reportedly going to culminate in a clash between the Rugby East champion and Life University.
In January 2014, Life University announced the addition of Women's Rugby as a varsity sport for the 2014-2015 school year. The success of the two men's rugby teams is well-documented, having won national championships in both the undergraduate intercollegiate division, and the men's club division. Adding women's rugby was a natural progression for Life U's expanding athletics department.
