The Mira Costa Boys HS team will probably be cheering for Life this weekend in the D1A men's college final, given that alumnus Justin Johnson is the Running Eagles' starting flanker, but they will also be cheering for Life in the women's final four.

Life University will play for the DIA final as the Running Eagles held off BYU 36-26 in Marietta, Ga. Saturday.
The teams were very evenly matched, with BYU a little bigger overall, but Life strong in contact. The breakdowns were a constant battle between the two, with BYU doing well to disrupt Life ball, and every ruck was hotly contested

The DIA playoffs are down to four teams and they are four teams who have had very different paths to the semifinals.
There’s BYU, which had to play an independent schedule to earn a playoff spot. As a result, the Cougars had to play on the road for the entire playoff run - not exactly what they’re used to, but they know what they’re doing.
We’re down to four in the DIA playoffs as Saint Mary’s, BYU, Arizona, and Life all won.
Of those four games, Life v Lindenwood was easily the closest, although Indiana put up a a fight against BYU.
So there's the little matter of the DIA Quarterfinals Saturday, with eight teams left with a rugby game and a dream.
