Great Falls Village in Virginia was a busy place this past Sunday as Great Falls Youth Rugby hosted its sixth annual tournament to benefit the spinal cord injury Adaptive Sports programs at MedStar National Rehabilitation Network.
This annual charity event is dear to the heart of Gary Coetzee, president of Great Falls Rugby and himself a spinal cord injury survivor.
Old Glory DC signing Jack Iscaro will be going to Scotland as he has signed a training contract with the Glasgow Warriors.
Iscaro, who was a High School All American while at Gonzaga HS before attending Cal and being a standout for the Bears.
Gonzaga HS hosts the annual Gonzaga Classic this weekend and once again the event has a long list of ranked teams involved.
In a battle of the #1 single-school team versus the #3 team, Gonzaga, recently ousted from #1 status, defeated Xavier 21-20 over the weekend.
It was, as usual, a tight and contentious clash between the two squads and it went down to the final whistle.
Both coaching staffs left the game a little frustrated.
Gonzaga HS defeated Fort Hunt 33-12 Saturday in an early-season high-ranking clash.
Gonzaga, ranked #1 among single-school teams, had to deal with a couple of injuries, but bested an improving Fort Hunt squad.
"The forwards did an excellent job," enthused Gonzaga Head Coach Peter Baggetta. "They took over the game."
