GRR: Eagle Men
The USA Men’s 7s team finished 4th in the Hong Kong 7s, putting together a string of impressive results that, sadly, ended a little early as they were defeated by South Africa and Australia at the end of the tournament.
Can the Eagles make a move?
Well, they can try, but really the next few World Series tournaments are about holding steady.
The United States sits 5th in the World Series, which is a pretty nice place to be. But they are 17 points out of 4th, and 33 points out of 3rd.
How hard will it be to move up? Well, think of this way:
USA Rugby has announced the location for the second of the two-game Men's Rugby World Cup Qualifier against Canada.
The first leg will be played in Canada, and that venue has not been released yet. But the July 1 second leg will be played at Torero Stadium in San Diego, Calif. The Americas 1 seed will be decided based on aggregate score from those two games.
LAFAYETTE, Colo.(USA Rugby Press Release) – The 12th-ranked national rugby union team of Georgia will visit Kennesaw, Ga., for a June 17 test match against the USA Men's Eagles as part of the Emirates Airline Summer Series.
Day Two out of five competition days covering nine days on the calendar isn't easy for any international 7s team, and the USA did pretty well, considering.
The Eagles ended up 1-2 in Vancouver on Sunday, winning that crucial quarterfinal game to make the semis, but losing the next two to finish fourth.
