DIAA College Rugby News
Despite some cancelations and postponements, we've got Men's D1 rugby going and this week we've got over 40 games in DIA, DIAA, and NCR DI.
DIAOhio State comes off a really tough-to-take loss to Indiana where they had control of most of the set piece, but couldn't quite hold off a dynamic IU squad. They get to take out their frustrations on Michigan Friday night.
Throughout Men's D1 College we saw some strong performances as teams get back on the field; here are a few.
This week's Gamebreakers:
Vince Carso, Ohio StateIn a losing effort (33-31), Carso was a sparkplug for Ohio State and scored a brilliant try to boot.
Mount St. Mary's shut out Virginia Tech on the road this past weekend, taking the Hokies down 35-0.
The match kicked off in hot conditions. The Mount started the game off quickly with a try by Angelo Gurcsik five minutes in. The forwards provided a strong scrum platform for the backs to work the ball through the ends to release the senior wing Gurcsik on the edge.
There was an interesting development last week as NCR announced their postseason plans and started using the DIAA moniker, something they hadn't been using.
We have over 30 Men's DI College rugby games this weekend, with a few conferences kicking off.
