If you want a great high school rugby team, start in elementary schools—then work at it over time.
The Charlotte Tigers defeated the Raleigh Redhawks 41-35 Saturday to secure the top seed in the North Carolina Youth Rugby Boys HS Club playoffs.
The Tigers benefited from some solid work from twins Drius and Donovan Law, who had just been off with the Eagle Impact Rugby Academy team in the Tropical 7s.
Charlotte Tigers made a bit of a statement in MSIRL and North Carolina HS Club action, with a 47-0 defeat of Charlotte Catholic.
Virginia HS club Fort Hunt took a trip to North Carolina over the weekend and returned with plenty of things to work on, as the #3-ranked Warriors lost to the Raleigh Redhawks and Charlotte Tigers.
The 2018 Mid-South Independent Rugby League season ended with an epic cup final between South Greenville and the Charlotte Tigers, a game South Greenville won in double overtime, so it seemed appropriate to open the season with these two teams going at it.
