National Collegiate Rugby has been undergoing some staffing changes—adding staff and consolidating some positions—and this week announced that current Director of Men’s Rugby, Brad Dufek, will be retained in that position.

Dufek's role is now expanded to include 7s, as NCR moved 7s Director Pat Clifton to a full-time media position. Dufek will oversee D1, D1AA, D2, and D3 in 15s and 7s for NCR; in the past there had been separate commissioners or directors for different divisions.

Under Dufek NCR has expanded from small college exclusive to the other divisions, and overseen the setup of conferences and infrastructure. Key among these could well be a strongly-defined stratifying of what makes D3, D2, D1AA, and D1. While there have been a hiccup or two, overall what Dufek was able to do was create definitions that funneled teams into those divisions. That clarity has been important to how NCR is structured.

Dufek also runs serves as Executive Director of Madison United Rugby and managed the Wisconsin Rugby Complex in Cottage Grove, Wisc.

Jeremy Treece, CEO, said of the decision, “Brad has demonstrated a consistent ability to build sustainable programs, foster partnerships, and deliver results that reflect the values and ambition of NCR. His unique experience in both club and varsity rugby, brings valuable insight to this next chapter.”‍

NCR plans to announce the Women’s Director in the coming days.
