Competitive Day One at Mount Invitational

Action from Day One of the Mount Invitational.

Day One of the Mount Invitational kicked off Friday with Boys U19 and U16 games.

In the U19s, all of the games were very close with teams showing some game savvy in shortened contests, opting to go for goal when a kickable penalty presented itself.

Two penalty goals saw Atlantis past the hio Aviators 11-7, and they used their goalkcking smartly also to beat the Midwest Thunderbirds 13-7 to win both of their games.

The Miam Jaguares edged North Carolina 15-12 in their opener and then held off the Aviators 18-12, once again needing some timely kicks to do it.

In the final match of the day the Midwest ran out to a 19-0 lead only to see North Carolina storm back to tie it 19-19. With time up Midwest scored to win it 24-19.

Atlantis and the Jaguares ended the day 2-0 on a day where the largest winning margin was six points.

In the U16s, the Midwest Thunderbirds led fairly convincingly, beating North Carolina 15-0 and Miami Jaguares 26-0 to end the day with a clean slate.

the Aviators held off Jaguares 19-12 but were beaten by North Carolina 36-14 to leave those two teams at 1-.
