Still Time to Apply for a Match Day Tent from US Rugby Foundation
There is still time to apply for the US Rugby Foundation-donated Match-Day Tents.
Teams all over the United States use these tents as a home base for their teams at away games and tournaments. The tents are co-branded, with the team and US Rugby Foundation logos
All youth and high school rugby teams in the United States qualify for the grant. Programs for boys and girls, as well as co-ed programs, will be given equal consideration by the Foundation. Programs that have previously applied for a Match Day Tent Grant but were denied are encouraged to apply again.
A simple tent can go a long way.
"We were so fortunate to have been chosen to receive the tent," said Maria Vanegas of the Okapi Wanderers, which received a tent last year. "The tent is such a great tool for our club not only to advertise who we are everywhere we go but also to put the sport of rugby out there and see how many people inquire about it. The fact that it has the US Rugby Foundation name on it attracts people to ask about RUGBY itself."
The other thing about these tents is that they last. Tents are easy to find, but tents that don't fall apart in the first gust of wins are another thing.
"The tent is such good quality, durable, and light," said Vanegas. "We use it for all our volunteer activities and our games, we are proud to take it everywhere. The fact that the US Rugby Foundation donates those tent to our grassroots show that they really care to grow this beautiful sport."
