GRR: National Teams
(USA RUGBY PRESS RELEASE) OTTAWA – The Men’s Eagles kick off the final leg of their pre-Rugby World Cup 2015 tour Saturday, Aug. 22, against Canada.
There’s both a sigh of relief and an eagerness to get back to work in the Women’s Junior All American (WJAA) camp.
The USA Men’s National Rugby Team leaves the friendly confines of Burlington, Vt. for Ottawa, Canada on Thursday to face Canada Saturday.
The players have been able to get a nice mix of intense training and some time off - Lake Champlain is of course right there, and the town of Burlington had its attractions, as long as the players avoided too much Ben & Jerry’s ice cream.
The Women's Junior All Americans (WJAAs) had something to prove today against the Canada U20s, looking to break the recent trend of losses to their northern neighbors. After taking a 19-5 lead in the first quarter, it appeared the hosts were well on their way, but Canada just needed some time to adjust and fought its way to a two-point deficit.
2015 was supposed to be a Women’s U20 Nations Cup year, but the competition wasn’t renewed, so the USA and Canada looked across the border for another Can-Am Series.
