GRR: National Teams
Well the debate is over; USA Head Coach Mike Tolkin has decided to essentially empty the bench in choosing his lineup to face South Africa.
It was always going to be a debate, in that the coach either had to put his team’s top 15 on the field and try to beat a team they’ve only come close to beating once, or rest those players so they will be fresh to play Japan four days later.
LONDON (USA Rugby Release) – Kutztown University product and USA scrumhalf Niku Kruger will make his Rugby World Cup debut Wednesday, Oct. 7, against South Africa in the USA's penultimate Pool B match of Rugby World Cup 2015; the Eagles have been named to face the SPringboks at The Stadium in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London.
The USA team is now in London getting ready to face South Africa.
Of course, it was eight years ago that Taku Ngwenya became a household name by scoring the try of the year in against those self-same Springboks in the World Cup.
Every game this year, except one, has been a game of two halves for the USA.
The USA put a bit of a worry into Scotland and led at halftime, but ultimately lost to Scotland 39-16 Sunday in the Rugby World Cup Pool B clash at Eland Road in Leeds.
