GRR: National Teams
Was the USA's loss to England a big old problem?
We don't think so. Losing a test match 40-5 is not exactly rare. Just take a look at these results from July:
England beat the USA Saturday night in front of over 19,000 in yet another lightning-interrupted test match, putting two different kinds of exclamation points on the midsummer games for both teams.
In front of a new record crowd for a USA Women's home test match, the Eagles beat Fiji Saturday in DC in a game that was much, much closer than it needed to be.
Five tries to three saw the Eagles home 31-24, but they did squander a 26-7 lead and, had they executed a bit better, could have run away with it in front of 15,198 at Audi Field.
The Eagle men will have a tall order facing England Saturday evening.
As everyone looks to the skies and hopes there’s no lightning, the Americans will also be hoping to bring a little thunder … that’s how they will energize their fans this weekend.
The third and final Men's Eagles test match of July lands in Washington DC this Saturday, with the USA hosting England for the first time in over a decade.
