IU Just Taking Care of Business
Perhaps the least surprising college 7s qualifier this past weekend was Indiana.
IU had been almost untouchable in the tournaments building up to the Big Ten Universities final, and weren’t really touched this past weekend, either.
For IU officer Bryce Campbell, it was business as usual.
ACRC 7s Names Top 75
URugby has named its top 75 ACRC 7s teams as the ACRC 7s in Virginia Beach looms this weekend.
Alabama Surprises Again
Perhaps one of the biggest shockers in this spring of college 7s tournaments was Alabama’s victory at the SCRC 7s championships.
With South Carolina having won all three qualifiers, and with the next two strongest teams being Tennessee and Florida, it seemed as if Alabama, which finished 4th in all three buildup events, was just one of several dark horses running in the race.
Arizona State Bowl Ends 15s on a High
Arizona State University finished off their 15s season with a high, beating Ohio State 59-0 in impressive fashion in their second-annual Rugby Bowl.
The Rugby Bowl is a special event started by Arizona State to highlight one game a year in a high-level venue and showcase the game. Last year, ASU played BYU.
Miami Counts Themselves Back In
Miami of Ohio came from almost out of the blue to win the MAC 7s this past weekend, and they admit it was a bit of a surprise.
“We didn’t play well last weekend,” said Miami Coach Jared Moore.
